Prof. Graham McCollum, MBChB (UCT, 2000), is a highly regarded Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Cape Town, South Africa. He completed his community

service and internship, followed by advanced orthopaedic training, achieving his FC Orth (SA) in 2011. Early in his career, Prof. McCollum expanded his expertise through international fellowships, including Foot and Ankle surgery in London under Mr James Calder and in Baltimore under Dr Mark Myerson—globally recognized leaders in sports medicine and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Since 2013, he has led the Foot and Ankle Reconstruction Unit at Groote Schuur Hospital and serves as Associate Professor a Senior Lecturer in the Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Cape Town.

He also maintains a private practice at Life Kingsbury Hospital and the UCT Private Academic Hospital, and consults at the Sports Science Institute on Thursdays.

Prof. McCollum's clinical interests encompass sports injuries of the foot and ankle, trauma, fractures, post-traumatic reconstruction, and degenerative conditions. He works closely with multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams to ensure optimal outcomes, both surgical and non surgical.

Academically active and influential, Prof. McCollum sits on editorial review committees, contributes frequently to scientific journals and textbook chapters, and collaborates internationally with specialists in his field.

Prof. McCollum is married and has 3 children. His interests outside of work include surfing, mountain biking and fishing.
